Sunny skies and dry conditions greeted the riders for Sunday's race at the SmartWool Cup USGP of Cycloross in Ft Collins. More strong performances from our men and women on day two with Tristan Schouten having another strong ride finishing 8th. His performance was notable considering the elite cross company he beat on the line including former multiple US National Champions Tim Johnson and Ryan Trebon who were 10th and 11th. Alex Candelario also had a good ride finishing up 14th. The cross team was also joined this weekend by Chad Haga who returns from surgery on both hands resulting from a crash at this summer's Cascade Classic. Fantastic to see Haga and Mike Sherer back in action after broken bones.

Jade Wilcoxson and Carmen Small led the way for the Optum p/b KBS women yesterday, grabbing a pair of top 10's once again. Both riders are new to cross but are quickly developing the skillset needed for riding on the dirt, jumping barriers and running up stairs or through the sand. With each weekend going forward, I think we will see our women approach a UCI podium.
