    • PEDRO GOMES WINS PRESTIGIOUS I CAN TRIATHLON MARBELHA

1200 athletes step the line for 1,9k of swimming, 90k of cycling and 21,1k of running, this past Sunday at Puerto Bánus, for the 2nd edition of I CAN Triathlon Marbelha, one of the most prestigious circuits in Spain. Gomes topped this hard challenge (the bike course included twice the climb to Ojén peak), joining Eneko Llanos on the list of winners of this race.

Coming out of the water with the leaders, it didn’t take long for Pedro to take charge on the bike, recording the fastest split of the day and coming to T2 with a lead of over 4 minutes to second place on a course that included more than 1300 meters of altitude gained. Once on the run and despite coming off a 5 week period with very light running due to an injury, Pedro managed to hold the lead for the entire circuit and came home in first with time to celebrate with the huge crowd that gathered around the final chute, before crossing the line in a time of 4 hours and 17 minutes. Afterwards, Pedro and all that accepted this challenge agreed that once again I CAN Triathlon organization offered a “prime” event to athletes, families and public.
