Tom Zirbel has done it! The big man from Iowa today grabbed his first US Professional National Time Trial Championship besting Pro Tour rider Brent Bookwalter by 17 seconds at the finish. Chad Haga narrowly missed the podium, placing 5th on the line, less than 5 seconds from the bronze medal. But a great performance by Haga who dug deep to place 10th overall at the Amgen Tour of California last week. Scott Zwizanski who battled through the heat in the early days of TOC rode to 9th on the day.

The women had strong rides today beginning with Janel Holcomb who started early and sat in the hot seat for much of the day. She eventually finished up 7th, while teammate Jade Wilcoxson, who was 4th in the TOC Women's TT, finished 5th and teammate Brianna Walle rounded out the top 10.

Impressive rides for both men and women and a real testament to the depth of this program. 6 Top 10's in one day today. A real congratulations goes out to Zirbel who suffered greatly in the heat at TOC and was unable to continue the race. What a comeback!
